FILIPINO radio broadcaster and newspaper photojournalist based in Sydney, Australia, Marilie Bomediano, (please see photo inset) is bound for South Korea
next week to attend a world peace summit.
Ms Bomediano is taking part in the media forum of the 2nd Annual Commemoration of the 18th World Alliance of Religions Peace (WARP) Summit on September 17-19 in host city Seoul.
She was invited to the conference by Man Hee Lee, chairman of the Summit’s organising body, the Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL).
Topics on the Summit’s agenda include the roles of the legal system to resolve religious conflicts and of the International Court of Justice of the United Nations in resolving armed conflicts.
The program contains an advocacy forum for the declaration of peace and cessation of war, a media forum for advocacy on the declaration of peace and cessation of war, the 4th HWPL international law peace committee meeting, an international religious leaders conference, a conference for the implementation of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War, and a 2016 IWPG network forum.
Ms Bomediano broadcasts on community radio programs Radio Rizal and Radio Sandigan. She is a regular news reporter for Filipino monthly newspaper Ang Kalatas and a contributing correspondent for suburban newspaper South Sydney Herald and international websites Munting Nayon based in The Netherlands and Journal GlobaLinks, a news agency based in Chicago USA.
As a Rizal student and follower, Ms. Bomediano aims to introduce the non-violent advocacies of Philippine national hero Dr. Jose Rizal into the WARP Movement!
